About this property

Welcome to Friday Harbor Suites

Friday Harbor Suites offers straightforward accommodations in spacious, home-style suites located just a short walk from the ferry dock and Friday Harbor's town center. Guests can find a range of practical amenities including free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, accessible facilities, and free parking. The property also features a hot tub, fitness center, and a business center, catering to both leisure and business travelers.

The on-site Medio Cafe is well-reviewed for its quality coffee and breakfast offerings, providing a convenient dining option without breakfast included in the room rate. The hotel also accommodates families with kid-friendly activities such as a game room and a mini theater. Despite lacking a pool or airport shuttle, the property compensates with a free local area shuttle, enhancing accessibility around the area.

Located about half a mile from the heart of Friday Harbor, the hotel sits slightly uphill from downtown, a factor to consider for visitors with limited mobility. Guest feedback highlights the spaciousness and cleanliness of the suites, which often include kitchens and multiple bathrooms, making them suitable for families or longer stays. Some reviews mention that certain elements like electrical outlets and kitchenware could be improved, but note that management appears responsive to guest concerns.

The setting offers a quieter alternative to more central hotels while remaining within easy walking distance of local attractions, restaurants, and the ferry terminal. It appeals to visitors seeking comfortable, functional suites with additional amenities and a casual atmosphere rather than luxury or boutique-style lodging.

!!Please note!! The hair dryers in the room kept shorting out the electricity after about 3 min of use, leaving a portion of the room without power. Just be weary of that. But front desk will reset the breakers for you and come to your room to check. Besides the hair dryer issue, I couldn’t be happier with this place. Has great customer service, a lot of amenities (mini theater, hot tub, game room, a lot of extra towels and blankets, fold out bed, etc) and the double queen room is actually a suite with 2 separate rooms and a stocked kitchen. There’s 3 TV’s in the suite, 2 bathrooms, and heating and AC. So worth it for the price!

I genuinely enjoyed my stay here. It's slightly "out of town" but only in the context of Friday Harbor being a small community. In any other location it would be considered incredibly close to anything you'd want to do. Staff was truly wonderful and friendly. The hotel (or at least, the part I stayed in) had pretty clearly been built as an apartment building which was honestly a positive in my opinion. It meant the elevator wasn't tiny, there were extras like a movie room, and the suite we stayed in had two full bedrooms (one with a private bath), two full bathrooms, a living room with fireplace, almost complete kitchen, and nook table. There was also a deck that overlooked the outdoor area of the hotel which included a hot tub, outdoor games, and seating that I believe may offer dining during the summer season. If you are walking on/off the ferry and have never been to the islands, please be aware that San Juan goes uphill almost immediately from the ferry dock. I can't think of anywhere you could stay that isn't at least a little uphill, but this hotel is past downtown so it's farther up the hill than some locations. It is not overly steep or only for the very young/fit, but if you are someone who may need to take into account the incline, keep that in mind. I do have to note, just because my travel companion and I were truly tickled by it, the hallway our room was down is genuinely the weirdest hallway I have ever been in in my life. It didn't negatively impact my stay and I would hate for someone to not book this location based on what I'm saying. In fact, I almost extra recommend this place so you can see it. I thought it was an optical illusion at first. I suppose I should note if you are a wheelchair user, you will feel like you're on a slalom course as you can't wheel straight down the hallway. I want to note that my review takes into account the price I paid and relative to the competition. There are hotels closer to the heart of Friday Harbor (whose quality I can't speak to) but cost genuinely double at the time of my stay.

We had a wonderful stay! We wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms were clean and spacious. The location was incredibly convenient and the fish tank was really neat. The sweet lady Reality at the front desk was super knowledgeable and willing to take the time to help us plan out our stay and give her recommendations. They also had a luggage storage room too which was really convenient after we had checked out.

It was large and comfortable accomodations. The only suggestion would be to stock the kitchen better. Some more silverware and glasses. Wine glasses would be recommended. The location is nice. Close enough to town to walk down. Nice restaurant with good coffee.

Hold onto your hats, I will be addressing all the complaints and share my experience. We stayed at room 207. We booked the hotel for memorial weekend. My primary need was 1) Clean 2) Good location 3) Child-friendly (kids 3- 11 yr). 4) Enough parking. 5) Breakfast at the hotel (not included). We knew about the cost beforehand so no complaints here. Does the price justify a 3 star hotel? Perhaps not. But it made sense if you compare with other hotels around the area. This is a 3.5 star hotel. The hotel has upgraded many of the things people previously complained about which means they are paying attention. Kudos to them. *LOCATION - 3 min from Anna Cortes terminal by car. *ROOMS - Big, spacious, clean, no sticky carpet. One room has a A/C another one has a ceiling fan. There's an additional big fan in the closet. Outlets are worn out but they have added standing chargers. Kitchenette was a big plus (includes plates, glasses, mugs, cutlery, bottle opener, electric kettle). Bring your own knife and can opener. You will get 1 paper towel and 2 toilet paper (good quality). Plenty of garbage bags. Bathroom was clean, new commode with good flush. New shelves. Strong vent. No smell in the water. For the ladies: excellent light and mirror for makeup. Full body mirror on the door. *PARKING - plenty. *BREAKFAST - not included but they have a lovely contemporary cafe downstairs. We enjoyed the avocado toast, yogurt bowl, breakfast burrito and the classic plate (egg, toast, bacon, potato). There is a kids menu. The coffee was excellent, so was the service (see my photos for menu and prices). There is a separate room inside the cafe if you decide to buy your own food. *GAME ROOM - one of the best things about this hotel. Shuffle board, basketball, books, puzzles, Zenga, great selection of boardgames. The kids stayed busy and we enjoyed some down time. Perfect if it's raining. *THEATRE ROOM - Netflix on a big screen. Perfect if it's raining. You will get the remote control from the front desk. *The front desk has someone at all times. They were very helpful and accommodating.

Location is ideal - just out of the traffic rush of Friday Harbor, but within walking distance of everything you need. The rooms are spacious and the beds are quite comfortable. Our group loved the outdoor gathering area and often used the hotel grill for dinner. Medio Cafe downstairs is charming and had a variety of items for our team to have breakfast. We were a complicated and larger group, but Daniel and Marna made our stay so incredibly smooth. Excellent service, and an excellent stay.

We stayed three nights at Friday Harbor Suites earlier this month. We had a family room with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small kitchen, dining area, and family room. It was very comfortable and there were a lot of enjoyable amenities onsite. The breakfast cafe was delightful and the food was very good! We enjoyed the walkability of this location to many places in Friday Harbor. The staff was also very professional and kind. The building was clean and inviting. Would highly recommend!
